The first pre-market consultation of human food made from cultured animal cells has been completed – and everything’s looking good so far! The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it’s committed to supporting innovation while ensuring safety regarding food supply.

The agency has evaluated information submitted by Upside Foods on the company’s food made from cultured chicken cells, and has given it a greenlight for the commercialization of the product in the US – a major step towards a new era in meat production!
