A win for the good guys ๐
Oct 07, 2022Or is it a win for the good vaccines? After a successful vaccination trial against African Swine Fever (ASF) performed by the Vietnam Department of Animal Health, officials said 20 localities have deployed more than 21,000 doses under all appropriate guidelines.
- Responding to the deaths of pigs that had received an ASF vaccine, officials determined the cause was uncontrolled vaccination processes not in compliance with the Ministry guidelines. We’ve talked about this in a previous edition, so check it out here.
However… Now it seems things are working out just fine.
Under the proper regulations, several pigs were noted to have mild fevers, but all were stable at the time the farms were visited.
- ๐ Because of the positive findings, Ministry officials intend to expand ASF vaccinations soon, abiding to the regulations and under strict supervision to continue evaluating the efficacy of the vaccine.
