Bacon City

If you were to rename your city, what would you call it? We don’t know what popped into your mind, but we’re fairly certain it wasn’t “Bacon City” – it’s so simple and genuine that it’s genius. And believe it or not, it’s happening! A Texas town is renaming itself “Bacon City, USA.” 

• The change won’t be permanent, but only for a weekend (September 16 - 17). 
• It will be a celebration of 100 years of Wright Brand Bacon. Vernon, Texas, the company’s official birthplace, will be changing its name.

And it looks like Bacon City, USA has found its new mayor in Walter Arnett. He’ll be introduced during the one-day festival on the 16th, which will have activities such as a food truck competition and concerts.

• Mr. Arnett promises to work tirelessly to make sure that every citizen has access to the finest quality bacon.
