Fear: confirmed 🤦🦠

🐷🧫 The Croatian Veterinary Institute has confirmed African Swine Fever (ASF) in blood samples from sick pigs and in organ samples from dead pigs taken from two facilities in the country – all 48 of the animals were kept outdoors on the two farms.

• After the suspicion was raised, preliminary control measures were taken. Now that the fears have proven to be real, control measures are underway, including culling, determining restriction zones, collecting epidemiological information, and determining the possible spread of the disease to other locations.
