Halting the inflation (?) 🖐️❗

The Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is expected to announce the details of a new deal with companies to halt rising food prices, and increase collaboration with the private sector as inflation climbs.

• The collaboration is part of a package that includes corn tortillas, rice, soap, tomatoes, milk, sliced bread, and toilet paper.

• The President said he had reached a new agreement with producers and distributors of corn, chicken, eggs, and beef, for example, to maintain prices of essential food items.

The new deal comes because there’s been some dispute over how effective the costly program has been.
