How are you gonna do it?

Saving the planet is a goal we all should all go for… But we’ve got to really have a plan in place to succeed, not just taxes and fines! That was precisely the argument made by local farmers at New Zealand’s farmer protests this week against the government's plan to tax agricultural emissions.

• The country’s government confirmed plans, which are still in the consultation phase, to price long-lived agricultural gasses and biogenic methane. 

There’s been quite a fuss around this…

• Farmers weren’t campaigning for exemptions, but they’re worried about how the proposal intends to counteract such emissions,  how emissions will be priced, and how the program will be governed.

• New Zealand's Prime Minister says they’re looking for feedback from the community on the plan, and that the focus was working constructively with food producers to achieve the best outcome for everyone in the country.
