Into the top 5 ๐
Mar 28, 2023๐ท๐บ The key challenge the Russian pork industry will face over the next 5 years is to make its way into the top-5 world's largest pork exporters, says the chairman of the Russian Union of Pork Producers during an industry conference in Moscow.
• The priority markets are China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines – in other words, Russia depends heavily on Asia, and honing its relationships with them is the way forward.
• African Swine Fever (ASF) remains the key problem preventing the opening of the Chinese market, but there’s hope: France has recently closed an agreement with China to export pork even should an ASF outbreak occur, so a similar deal seems possible.
