Never a good idea to lie on your stomach… 💤

👀 Even pigs know that! A new research has found that stomach ulcers may cause changes in which side the pigs choose to rest on. In other words, observing changes in the behavior of the animals might help detect ulcers before they get serious! 

     • Stomach ulcers are a dangerous thing: they affect both pig welfare and behavior.  

🐷 All in all, it seems pigs with stomach ulcers lay on their right side much less than pigs without ulcers, and pigs with stomach ulcers were found to be less prone to performing harmful behaviors like tail biting.
