🇬🇷🐗 Not one to follow, but one to learn from… The Executive Director of the Swine Health Information Center (SHIC) suggests the identification of African Swine Fever (ASF) in wild boars in Greece is a pretty good illustration of how the infection is moving in eastern Europe: according to the reports, it seems the animals are migrating south from northern countries to Greece. 

     • The problem about boars is that they serve as a reservoir of infection and are very difficult to control in the wild. 

⚠️ This works as a serious warning for everyone: it’s undeniable that, if ASF gets into the feral pig population of a given place, it may be extremely difficult to take it out. Get more details here.
