Seasonal decline

Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) live cattle strengthened on Tuesday, supported by strong cash markets and tight supplies of market-ready cattle. 

• CME feeder cattle futures eased.
• Cash cattle trade had a firm start to the week, but light in volume. 
• Consumer beef prices remain strong, with choice cuts easing and select cuts rising.

CME lean hog futures gained as cash hog prices remained firm – despite lower nearby futures. 

• We’re currently seeing the normal seasonal decline.
