Trial extension 📈

📃 The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is extending time-limited trials until Nov. 30, which allows eligible New Swine Slaughter Inspection System (NSIS) establishments to operate at an increased line speed. 

🧐 The trials, elaborated in consultation with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, have been approved and run by six NSIS establishments so far. They have been operating at an increased line speed for a period of one-year while FSIS has been collecting data on the impacts of the change on establishment workers. Read more about it here.
