Who saw that coming? ๐
Nov 29, 2022According to the Swine Health Information Center (SHIC), there’s been an increase in PRRS, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, and Influenza A virus. So pork producers are advised: please, do keep an eye on biosecurity measures this fall!
• SHIC Associate Director Dr. Megan Niederwerder says the increase of PRRS has been particularly worrisome in pigs in the wean-to-market phase, so producers should be careful so that it doesn’t spread to sow farms.
โ ๏ธ Who saw that coming? Well, almost everybody…
According to Dr. Niederwerder, the increase is fairly predictable during the fall, but so far it hasn’t impacted sow farms, which gives us a good shot at containing it in the early stages.
