Wiping it off the map! ❌🗺️
Apr 15, 2023😷🦠 If you’re not obsessed with personal health protection, then you’re in the minority! With the growing trend, there’s been a remarkable increase in the use of antimicrobial wipes – most of which are discarded after a single use and take hundreds of years to decompose in the environment. However, researchers from the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) have found a way to wipe that problem off the map: they’ve developed sustainable machine-washable antimicrobial wipes!
• Using the new wipes is just a matter of wetting them with tap water and then wiping the surfaces. They kill 99.9% of harmful bacteria S. aureus and P. aeruginosa, and can be used at least 30 times after simply being washed in the laundry. Not only does this solution wipe the floor with antimicrobials (well, not literally, but you get the idea) by helping the swine industry with better hygiene, but it’s also much more sustainable.
